I give Yoga and Meditation classes, Qi Gong classes and workshops at Yoga at The Oaks in Normandy, Guildford.
I trained with the International Yoga Teaching Organisation of FRYOG (Yoga Alliance registered and part of the Independent Yoga Network). I am a member of the British Wheel of Yoga. In addition I have a CertEd Teacher Training.
I have broad experience in teaching yoga and the natural therapies since 1986 in Adult and Further Education, schools and commercial companies. I established my own yoga centre called Greenfields in Normandy in 2006 and enjoyed teaching classes and workshops there for 8 years.
I have moved just around the corner and created another beautiful and nurturing environment for my students and clients to enjoy. The Oaks is a beautiful barn-like studio with a lovely outlook in a rural setting and this is where I now hold all my classes and workshops.
I have also trained in various natural therapies including Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage with ITEC and The Raworth International College of Natural & Sports Therapies
I have studied with various yoga and meditation teachers and been on meditation and self-development retreats over the years. These and my continued professional development influence and evolve my teaching as an ongoing process.
I come from a dancing background and have wide experience in movement and body awareness. I enjoy the flowing and nourishing practice of Qi Gong and have now trained to teach this.
I find yoga and Qi Gong a wonderful way to look after myself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is such a healthy way to release stress and tension and offers people the chance to slow down and give themselves some quality attention.
I love to see my students use the session to release tension, discover how to move well and relax – leaving uplifted and peaceful.
For me yoga is about finding your centre. It’s a way of developing inner strength. Yoga is release – letting go and clearing away all the clutter you are carrying. Yoga is a way of getting to know yourself through increased observation and awareness. It’s an opportunity to be with yourself – honestly and tenderly. It’s a way of peeling away the layers to discover your true essence. Yoga is about gradual transformation through gentle attention and self love.
For the last nine years, Sarah’s yoga class has been an oasis of tranquility, and my weekly sanctuary from life’s ups and downs. The studio and surroundings are beautifully relaxing but more importantly, Sarah creates a calm nurturing environment where you can let go of everything and just be with yourself.
